Roger Newbold, a 30 year veteran of sales and management founded Auto Sales Training Group in 1995.  ASTG by putting in place the decision-making beliefs, that when missing, cause objections. Selling is the process of creating and reinforcing each of the critical Buyer Beliefs in the minds of qualified decision-makers.  On the way to work this morning, you probably passed at least eight to ten million dollars in salesperson’s commission. Everywhere you look there are automobiles, bumper to bumper at every turn of the road. Every one of these automobiles was sold to someone by an automobile salesperson. Some of them have been sold three, four, and five times. Once again, they were sold by an automobile salesperson, and each time they were sold, a salesperson collected a commission.

In the United States of America, everyone drives automobiles and everyone buys them. Any citizen who is 18 years old and in good health is a prospect to buy a new automobile at any time.

SELLING AUTOMOBILES IS THE EASIEST THING IN THE WORLD TO DO

IT NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME WHEN A SALESPERSON ASKS ME…WHERE DO I FIND NEW CUSTOMERS?

Customers are everywhere, and they all want what we sell. The problem that

most salespeople have is not that they can’t find customers: The problems most salespeople have is much more complex than that. The problem starts with inadequate sales skills, poor product knowledge, and lack of self-confidence.

To me, the retail automobile industry is one of the most exciting businesses in the world. There’s nothing like it. In no other business are the rewards so great for the amount of effort and education required.

When you become a professional automobile salesperson, you put it all on the line. This is not a business for weaklings and non- achievers. This business is one of the quickest ways I know for someone to realize their true self worth. The rewards are instantaneous and the failures are obvious.

Whether or not you ever reach the pinnacles of success in the business, the income opportunity is there. Automobile salespeople make higher incomes.
